Acceptable Usage Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
This Acceptable Usage Policy sets out the rules and guidelines for using Shobdo's services, including our website, API, and associated platforms. By using our services, you agree to abide by these policies.
1. API Usage Limits
To ensure fair access for all users, API requests are subject to rate limiting. Attempting to bypass these rate limits, such as by creating multiple accounts or rotating IP addresses, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account suspension.
2. Prohibited Activities
When using Shobdo, you agree NOT to engage in any of the following activities:
- Scraping: Automated extraction of data directly from our website without using our official API.
- Abuse: Sending unreasonable amounts of requests that overload our servers or disrupt the service for others.
- Malicious Code: Attempting to inject malware, viruses, or any other destructive code.
- Reverse Engineering: Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise discover the source code or underlying algorithms of the service.
- Commercial Resale: Reselling or repackaging our API services without explicit written permission.
3. Data Usage & Attribution
If you use Shobdo's API in a public application, website, or product, we require that you provide clear attribution to Shobdo as the data source. We also recommend caching responses locally within your application to reduce unnecessary load on our servers.
4. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate any violations of this policy and take appropriate action. This may include temporarily or permanently suspending your access to the service, deleting your API keys, or seeking legal remedies for severe violations.
5. Reporting Abuse
If you discover anyone violating this Acceptable Usage Policy, please report them to us immediately. We rely on our community to help keep Shobdo a reliable resource for everyone.
